“My practice is rooted in the description of emotion that has no place within the written or verbal language. Through paint, I try to communicate the unknown, and allow the medium itself to act as a voice. This is combined with the act of drawing, the two often coming together on the canvas, to describe things that have no physical or recognizable form.”
Graduating from Norwich University of the Arts in 2013 and 2014 with a BA Hons and MA in Fine Art, Emma Lee Cracknell has since been producing and showing predominantly large scale abstract paintings in LA, London and Norwich, with works in private collections in Singapore, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, Minneapolis, Connecticut, London, Norwich and more. Most of the artists’ work makes its way to California, through sales from exhibitions and promotion working with curators from Saatchi Art as well as a series of commissions with interior design firms in both commercial and residential spaces on the West Coast.
Emma Lee Cracknell, after being selected as the Axis Web MA Star for NUA (2014), now shows regularly as part of The Other Art Fair, which has also seen her work featured in the Gallery in British Vogue and Aesthetica Magazine. Furthermore, until recently her BA Degree show pieces were on display in St Georges, NUA and Emma has proudly maintained close links with Norwich, having a studio at Muspole Workshops and taking part in many local exhibitions.
