Two Views of Penwith: Sea, Light and Space
Anthea Eames and Chris Hann
3rd February – 4th March 2017
In contrasting but deeply connected ways, this work is art at its most elemental, born of the essence of Form and Matter.
With paint made from sand, soil and shingle, Anthea creates landscape out of the land, compressing image and reality. These paintings do not simply represent the land; they present it.
Chris pares down the material world to its basic geometric structures so that our relationship with the familiar becomes, in its highly abstract form, direct, primal, visceral.
This is art with its origins in a world before art. Circle, triangle, rectangle. Earth, air, oil. Sea, Light and Space.
